Pinto and Brody are 3-month old Pit Bull Terrier mixes. They were rescued from a home where they were neglected, dirty, and malnourished. After a couple of weeks of proper care and feeding, they are happy, playful little pups. They are still babies and will need training and housebreaking in their new home and they can be a bit mouthy at times. They both get along great with kids, cats, and other dogs (in fact, they LOVE other dogs.) They will make a great addition to any household where their new owner is willing to train, socialize, and love them! For more information contact the Washington Humane Society or call (202) 723-5730.

Kaden is a 6 year old chocolate male who has been in shelter for 3 months. He's very happy now to be in a foster home where he plays happily with 2 other labs. He's good with other dogs but because he was a stray, kids 10 and up would be appropriate for him. He's sweet, housebroken and can be trusted in the house alone. He has a mild heart murmur and some early arthritis. He loves his walks and is already getting muscles back after his long stay at the shelter. Kaden would be perfect in a home that appreciated a lower energy fellow! For more information, contact Lab Rescue at 301-299-6756.

Jester is a 3 ½-yr-old, neutered male Lhasa Apso mix who weighs 11.6 lbs. He has an adorable personality. Even though he's a quiet guy initially, Jester is quite the "social butterfly" when he meets people. He is playful and likes his toys. Jester also likes cats and other dogs, as well as children. Recently when he met some youngsters, Jester loved giving them kisses! If you would like to find out more about Jester, call 304-724-6558 or check out our Dogs for Adoption page at the Briggs Animal Adoption Center.

Baker is a VERY sweet 8 month old neutered male terrier mix. He is about 20 lbs of unconditional love. Baker does not need a crate as he is housetrained and not destructive. He is great with other dogs and children. Baker was rescued from a rural shelter where he was running out of time. The reason stated for giving him up was "too many dogs". Please give Baker a home to call his own. He so deserves it! If you are interested in this dog and live in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, please fill out a non-binding application at All Breed Rescue and Referral. For more information call (301) 482-2543.

Copper is a friendly 7-year old guy with beautiful red hair. He enjoys walks, belly rubs and bird or squirrel watching. Copper was an owner give-up to the shelter and we cannot figure out why given his friendly and gentle personality. He gets along well with other dogs, enjoys car rides and recently took a 3 hour trip to the beach and looked out the window or napped in the back seat quietly. If you're ready for Copper to become a family pet at your household, please visit www.cockerspanielrescue.com or call voice mail 703-533-2373.
